FROM THE FIELD
For more than fifteen years I have built and overseen food supply chains in places where most people only send emails. I have audited sesame in the Nile Valley and quinoa in the Andes, negotiated bean contracts in Dalian, walked sugar mills in Paraguay and dry-fruit operations in Uzbekistan — and spent just as many evenings in a Puglia farmhouse convincing a seventy-year-old farmer to fill in a Google Form.
SOME OF THE PLACES, AS THEY LOOKED.
